A balanced curriculum combines core courses, practical training and a wide range of electives. Our main campus is located in Gulfport, just outside St. Petersburg. We also have a part-time program with classes on the main campus and our satellite campus in downtown Tampa. Stetson Law requires all students to complete a first-year program that establishes students in the fundamental academic foundations of American legal education: civil procedure, constitutional law, contracts, criminal law, property, and tort. During the first two semesters, students also take a course that covers the basics of legal research and writing. In its third semester (for full-time students), Stetson Law requires students to take one course in evidence and one course in professional liability.

Prior to graduation, students must also take elective courses that meet the requirements of an administrative law course as well as the Code of Rules. Students pursuing their J.D. after a part-time evening program have the same requirements, even if they are spread over their first five semesters. The law school is part of Stetson University, located in DeLand, Florida, about three hours from the law school. The university has a College of Arts and Sciences, a School of Music, and a School of Business Administration, the latter of which supports the JD/MBA program of the Faculty of Law. Prior to graduation, all students must also meet a higher writing requirement and complete six hours of experiential study credits.

Students interested in the concentration must meet additional academic requirements to demonstrate competence in a particular area of practice. Stetson Law offers concentrations in the following practice areas: Advocacy, Business Law, Early Law, Environmental Law, International Law, and Social Justice Advocacy.
